What the words mean
There is no official rule, but these are the usual ranges. We count the followers on the creator's biggest account.
- Nano: about 1,000 to 10,000 followers
- Micro: 10,000 to 100,000 followers
- Larger than that: mid-size and big creators, who reach more people but fewer of them near you
When nano creators make sense
Their followers are often friends, neighbours and people from their own town, so a recommendation can feel personal. They suit a single shop, a new restaurant or a local service. Many are also open to barter.
When micro creators make sense
Micro creators reach more people and usually make more polished videos. They suit a business serving a whole city, an online store, a real estate launch, or a new branch you want many people to hear about.
Several small creators or one bigger one
Several small creators let you test what works and reach different groups of people. One bigger creator is simpler to manage. If you are starting out, try a few small ones, keep the ones that bring customers, and build from there.
Size is not the main thing
Whatever the size, check three things: their followers live where your customers live, their videos look like something your customers would watch, and their followers are real.
