Pick creators by where their followers live
A follower in Dubai will not come to your biryani place in Kukatpally. So before you look at the follower count, look at the city. A creator with a smaller following close to you can be worth more than a big name whose followers are spread across India.
Start with food creators. Then look at lifestyle and comedy creators in your city, because their followers may not follow any food page and so may not have heard of you yet.
Ask for one clear video
Keep the request short. A creator knows how to make their own followers watch, so tell them what must be in the video and leave the rest to them.
- The name of your restaurant and the area it is in
- The one or two dishes you most want people to try
- One reason to come now, such as a weekend offer or a new item
- Your location tagged on the post
Pay in money, food, or both
Some creators take a free meal as payment. This is called a barter collab, and it suits a restaurant well because the creator has to come to you anyway. Others work only for money, and some take both.
If you pay in money, you can book a service a creator lists or send an offer at your own budget.
Give it time
Ask at least a week before you want the video to go out. If you are promoting a weekend or a festival, the video should be live a few days before it, so people can make plans.
Find out if it worked
Views are nice, but customers pay the rent. Put a small offer in the video, such as "tell us you saw this video and get a free sweet". Then count how many people say it. Asking every new table "how did you hear about us?" for two weeks also works.
Try one or two creators first. If it brings people in, do more with the same creators, since followers trust a place they hear about twice.
